Sling TV can be viewed on more devices at once than fuboTV — as long as you have Sling Blue. Sling TV’s Sling Blue base subscription lets customers watch content on up to three devices at the same time. However, Sling Orange — another one of Sling TV’s base packages — only permits streaming on one screen at a time. The base fuboTV package provides two simultaneous streams. You can upgrage that to three simultaneous streams for an extra $5.99 per month, or go unlimited for $9.99 per month.

If you enjoy recording content on DVR, you will favor fuboTV. fuboTV’s cloud DVR storage maxes out at 30 hours. You can pay an additional $9.99 per month for 470 more hours of cloud DVR storage, or go all the way to 1,000 hours for $16.99 per month. Sling TV provides a mere 10 hours of cloud DVR. Spend an extra $5 per month and the cloud DVR storage space increases to 50 hours. Sling TV doesn’t provide on-demand or live content in HDR or 4K. fuboTV offers such content, albeit in a limited manner. The majority of fuboTV’s 4K HDR streams are major sporting events.

Sling TV has a larger library of on-demand content than fuboTV. fuboTV’s on-demand library has more than 60,000 movies and episodes. This on-demand content rotates on a monthly basis. Sling TV brags that its on-demand titles number more than 70,000, though this figure is subject to change.

What Can You Watch on fuboTV vs. Sling TV?

Both fuboTV and Sling TV are designed to let you watch live TV. Sling TV’s two base packages, dubbed Sling Blue and Sling Orange, cost $35 per month. Sling Orange has 30+ channels. Its selection is highlighted by CNN, TBS, Disney, AMC and ESPN. The Sling Blue package provides 45+ channels, including many of the same channels as are provided in the Orange package. However, Disney and ESPN aren’t included in the Blue package. The Blue package is highlighted by the NFL Network and USA. You can get both Sling Orange and Sling Blue together at a discounted price, and you can also add “Extras,” which are small add-on bundles. The Extras make it easy to add a bunch of channels in one genre (like sports or comedy). They also make it easy to get more niche channels that would otherwise be available only in the largest bundles.

Sling TV is missing some major networks (it has FOX and NBC, but lacks ABC and CBS). It does, however, have some great international content.

fuboTV’s base package, dubbed “fubo Standard” has 100+ channels. Most of these channels are the same as those in the Sling Orange and Blue packages. fuboTV’s base package features channels such as MTV, Fox News and MSNBC.

Like Sling TV, fuboTV offers add-ons. Sports are fuboTV’s specialty: The service provides several unique sports channel packages, such as International Sports Extra and Fubo Cycling. Sling has more premium channels that can be added piecemeal. Examples include Epix and Starz.

How Much Will You Spend on fuboTV vs. Sling TV?

Sling Blue and Sling Orange cost $35 each. If you want both the Sling Blue and Sling Orange packages, it will cost $50 per month. From there, you can add Extras for as little as $5 per month each (some Extras cost more than others).

fuboTV’s base package costs $64.99 per month. fuboTV’s additional packages have the potential to increase the price to $80 or more. Extras include additional channels, more simultaneous streams, and improvements to the cloud DVR feature.

Both of these services use add-ons to allow you to customize your subscription. This makes it more affordable to get some niche channels than it is with competitors like DIRECTV Stream.

fuboTV Vs. Sling TV: Which Should You Choose?

fuboTV and Sling TV both have a lot to offer cord cutters, and these services have quite a bit in common. Still, there are a few key differences that should help you make your decision.

If you and your family enjoy watching sports, carefully review the content of each streaming service. fuboTV’s sports emphasis is impressive and includes coverage for more niche sports, like cycling. But Sling TV does sports well too, and it may be a cheaper path to the sports you love: Sling TV is more flexible in terms of add-on packages for customization. Be sure to check the channel options for your local area to determine exactly what channels are available for you and your family — and exactly what sports you’ll get covered.
